Managing Your Email Preferences
Overview
You have full control over the emails you receive from FI/AI. This guide explains how to manage your email preferences and unsubscribe from marketing emails.
Email Types
Marketing Emails
Educational content about financial independence strategies, tips for faster FI progress, and best practices from the community.
Default: Enabled (you opted in when you created your account)
Product Updates
Announcements about new features, platform improvements, and important service updates.
Default: Enabled (you opted in when you created your account)
Weekly Portfolio Summary
A weekly email with your portfolio performance, net worth changes, and FI milestone progress.
Default: Disabled (you must opt in to receive these)
Transactional Emails (Cannot Unsubscribe)
Essential emails for your account security and functionality:
- Email verification when you sign up
- Password reset requests
- Security alerts for suspicious activity
- Important account notifications
These emails cannot be disabled as they're critical for your account security.
Managing Your Preferences
Via Settings Page
- Log in to your FI/AI account
- Click your profile in the top right, then select Settings
- Navigate to Email Preferences in the left sidebar
- Toggle each email type on or off according to your preferences
- Click Save Preferences to update
You can change your preferences at any time.

How to Unsubscribe
One-Click Unsubscribe
Every marketing email we send includes an Unsubscribe link at the bottom. Simply click the link and you'll be immediately unsubscribed from all marketing emails - no login required!
What happens when you unsubscribe:
- You'll stop receiving marketing emails immediately
- You'll stop receiving product update emails
- You'll stop receiving weekly portfolio summaries (if enabled)
- You'll continue to receive transactional emails (password resets, security alerts, etc.)
The unsubscribe link is unique to your account and works without requiring you to log in, making it quick and easy to opt out.
Re-Subscribing
Changed your mind? You can re-enable emails at any time:
- Log in to your account
- Go to Settings > Email Preferences
- Toggle the email types you want to receive back on
- Click Save Preferences
Privacy & Compliance
Your Data
- We only send emails to addresses you provided when creating your account
- We never sell or share your email address with third parties
- We never purchase email lists
- Your email preferences are stored securely and encrypted
Compliance
Our email system complies with:
- CAN-SPAM Act: All marketing emails include clear unsubscribe links, our physical address, and honest subject lines
- GDPR: You have full control over your data and can unsubscribe instantly
- Industry Best Practices: We monitor bounce rates and complaints to maintain good sender reputation
